A community organization challenged the annexation by the City of Sultan of 80 acres of property. We assisted the City Council with the annexation, and represented the City in the successful defense of the community organization’s appeals, first to the Boundary Review Board and then to the Court of Appeals. The Court’s unanimous decision found that Sultan’s annexation was consistent with the Growth Management Act and also satisfied the other statutory criteria necessary for a successful annexation.
